Together, we’ll work through the core building blocks of the accent - exploring the PEOPLE, POSTURE, PRONUNCIATION AND PROSODY of Germany - with a focus on performance-ready application.

German accents are often associated with precision and clarity, but beneath those perceptions lies a rich and varied sound system shaped by language, region, history, and culture. In this workshop, we'll move beyond stereotypes and focus on the vocal patterns that give German accents their distinctive character.

Working live allows for real-time adjustment, exploration, and a more embodied understanding of the accent.

What We’ll Work On

  • Key vowel and consonant patterns

  • Rhythm, melody, and placement

  • Nuance and variation

  • Moving from generalised → specific choices

  • Applying the accent to text and performance

What You’ll Leave With

  • A clearer, more specific understanding of German accent patterns

  • Workshop recording and materials - and tools to continue developing the accent independently

  • Greater confidence bringing the accent into auditions and performance

  • An embodied German accent
